Starbucks is one of the most well-known coffee brands in the world. With stores everywhere from Egypt to Australia, the chain is a beverage behemoth. It’s not just a coffee chain conqueror though, and even boasts a record label. Known for its wide variety of hot beverages, Starbucks offers around 87,000 possible drink combinations. Luckily, equipped with our Unlocked secret menu, editor’s picks and full menu, you don’t have to miss out on crazy concoctions. You’ll be able to sip on something sweet while upholding your vegan values, and when melding different flavors, the only limitation is your imagination! Note: We strongly encourage bringing your own reusable coffee cup to any coffee shop.

The Vegan Unlocked Research Team searched through all 21 items on the Starbucks menu. We came away with two delicious on-menu items and a plethora of pleasing plant-based sides, drinks, and secret menu items.

Starbucks scores 2.3 out of 5 stars with Few Options available. So, when it comes to weird and wonderful plant-based beverages, this chain has you covered. However, if you’re looking for something other than a light bite, you might want to look elsewhere.

This score is calculated based on the number of vegan offerings on Starbucks’ menu “as is” or with an easy substitution, a restaurant vegan customizability score and finally, the number of vegan options vs non-vegan options. Learn more about how Vegan Unlocked Ratings are calculated.

Secret Menu

Sometimes the vegan food quest feels like you’re playing the game of life on hard mode. This can feel especially true when it comes to chains that don’t exclusively cater to vegan clientele. That said, eating vegan when you’re out and about doesn’t have to be a mind-bender, and sometimes you just have to put your creative mind to the test. To make things a little bit easier, we sent our team of vegan researchers to Starbucks to crack the code and find some sensational secret menu items. They didn’t disappoint either! If you’re feeling inspired by their custom creations, why not try it yourself? Sometimes this will just involve swapping out dairy milk for almond or subbing in some plant-based spreads.

Toasted everything bagel with avocado spread

A vegan favorite, this order comes with a soft, chewy, and thick New York–style bagel topped with onion, garlic, salt, poppy, and sesame seeds, and slathered in mouth-watering avocado spread. With a zing from the lime and a bit of spice from the jalapeño pepper, this topped bagel will certainly wake up those taste buds.

Peppermint Mocha

Some people crave Christmas all year round, and with this Peppermint Mocha, you can make your morning festive every day. Order this with your favorite plant milk, without whipped cream or chocolate curls, and you’ll be singing hymns all afternoon.

Apple Crisp Macchiato

Is there anything more autumnal than a good apple – or at least something apple-flavored? Order this with oat milk and without whipped cream. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, why not add some dried fruit on top? This can also be enjoyed as a frappuccino or iced.

If this is you, order the Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade Starbucks Refreshers Beverage, it’s Starbucks’ taste of summer tingler, and it’s a little taste of sunshine.

Just hit the gym, or got a long afternoon ahead of you? Order the Chickpea Bites & Avocado Protein Box, Starbucks’ protein packer. With chickpea bites, avocado dip, dried fruit and nut mix, and delicious veggies, this veggie box will keep things ticking along nicely until dinner.

The Chestnut Praline Crème ordered with plant milk, and no whipped cream is our festive favorite. With caramelized chestnuts and spice and spiced praline crumbs, this decadent delight is an absolute winner.
