Although Red Robin started out in the 1940s as a bar serving popcorn and sandwiches, these days, it’s a family-friendly burger joint known for its gourmet burgers packed with meat, cheese, and eggs. One of its burgers, the Monster, truly lives up to its name, weighing in at 1 lb with two beef patties and 3,540 calories with the accompanying bottomless fries and shake. In keeping with the horror theme, this sounds like a bit of a vegan nightmare! Luckily, there are some Red Robin vegan options, too! Armed with our Vegan Unlocked secret menu, editor’s picks, and full vegan menu, we’ll make sure you don’t walk away hungry – and with some vegan sub-ins, you can even try and defeat the Monster yourself!

The Vegan Unlocked Research Team searched through all 50 items on the Red Robin menu and found a tantalizingly tasty customized creation and some unmissable on-menu items, too.

Red Robin scores 2.7 out of 5 stars as a vegan-friendly restaurant. So, while this robin is certainly singing the right tune and offers a few vegan-friendly items, it’s no songbird just yet and could do with throwing some seasoned tofu or vegan cheese into the mix.

This score is calculated based on the number of vegan offerings on the Red Robin menu “as is” or with an easy substitution, a restaurant vegan customizability score and finally, the number of vegan options vs non-vegan options. Learn more about how Vegan Unlocked Ratings are calculated.

Secret Menu

When visiting a beloved American burger joint like Red Robin, figuring out what’s vegan can be a bit of a head-scratcher. You might be wondering if there are any vegan-friendly options that aren’t explicitly stated as vegan on its menu. Well, you’re in luck! We sent our vegan research team to Red Robin to see what they could come up with, and they really delivered the goods and created some delicious vegan mashups. Sometimes it’s even as simple as selecting a vegan meat alternative or subbing in some sauce.

The Veganized Banzai Burger

The Banzai Burger is a Japanese-inspired fusion burger that’s packed with flavor. To veganize it, simply sub in the Tavern bun and either an Impossible burger or vegan patty and remove the mayo, cheese, and teriyaki sauce – and this is where you get creative. Replace the teriyaki sauce with some scorpion sauce for a heat kick, and you’ll be left with a delicious patty, juicy pineapple, fresh tomatoes, and crispy lettuce.

The Vegan Monster

If you’ve worked up an appetite, see if you can handle the Vegan Monster burger. Order without cheese or beef patties and add in two vegan patties or Impossible burgers. Then, swap the mayo for house-made salsa or guacamole, and you’ve got yourself a killer burger.

Southwest Chicken(less) Salad

This tasty little number can be made vegan when ordered without the chicken, jalapeno coins, marinade, cheese, or ranch. Why not zhuzh it up a little and substitute the chicken for a veggie patty and add in some guacamole or salsa?

Editor’s Picks: What Are the Best Vegan Options at Red Robin?

While alternative meats are a godsend, sometimes it can feel refreshing to get back to basics. Our favorite return to roots option is the Keep it Simple Veggie Burger. With ancient grains and quinoa, this burger patty is rich in fiber and nutrients, meaning it will keep you full all afternoon while also being absolutely delicious to dine on.

Bottomless salad for just $6.99? Yes, you read that right – endless olives, boundless bell peppers, and indefinite onions, all for under $7. That’s why this item is the best bargain option on the menu. Dig in!

Sure, many vegans don’t miss the taste of meat, but there are also plenty who do, especially if they’re new to veganism. Thankfully, Impossible has made it possible to satisfy that craving in an entirely plant-powered way. The best meat mimicker on the menu is the Impossible Gourmet Cheese(less)burger. The Impossible patty smells, tastes, and looks just like a beef patty without harming animals or the planet.
